Help for riders

Support for the Patride Rider app — signing in, getting approved, taking deliveries, and getting paid.

Something wrong with a delivery right now?

Use the Help button on the delivery itself in the app. It reaches someone with that job already in front of them, which no email can. For anything else, write to riders@patride.com from the address on your account — it tells us who you are without you having to explain.

Getting started

  1. Sign up. Your name, the number customers will ring, and the market you ride in.
  2. Send your documents. Photograph each one in daylight with the whole document in frame.
  3. Tell us where to pay you. The account your earnings are sent to — plus your BVN if you are in Nigeria.
  4. Accept the rider agreement. What you are paid, when, and what you are responsible for.
  5. Go on shift. Work near you appears on the board.

Questions

The job board is empty.

Three things, in order. You must be on shift — the switch is at the top of Today. Location must be on, because the board shows work near you and an app that cannot place you has nothing to sort by. And a job only appears once the shop has finished packing it. If all three are right and it is still quiet, it is genuinely quiet.

I did not get my sign-in code.

Codes go to the number or email your account was opened with and expire after five minutes. If one has not arrived after a minute, wait rather than asking again — repeated requests are rate limited, so asking again makes the wait longer. If nothing arrives, write to riders@patride.com from the address on your account.

How long does approval take?

A person checks your documents by hand, usually within a working day. You can open the app while you wait, but no work is offered until the check is done. The checklist on Today shows exactly what is outstanding.

Which documents do I need?

An identity document, your riding licence, and a photo of yourself so we can check the person sending the documents is the person on them. Photograph each in daylight with the whole document in frame — most rejections are a photo too dark or too cropped to read, and there is no limit on attempts.

Why am I being asked for a BVN?

Only in Nigeria, and only for a bank payout. Nigerian banks can refuse a transfer to an account whose BVN the sender cannot supply, and finding that out on payday is finding it out too late. We never show it back to you in full and never send it anywhere except the bank paying you.

I am carrying two deliveries at once.

Both appear on Today, each as its own card with its own address and its own status. Tap one to open it and update it without touching the other. Finish them in whichever order makes sense for the road.

The customer will not give me the code.

The four digits are in their app, on the order. If they cannot find them or are not there, use the photo option instead — take a clear picture of the delivery at the door. Support confirms it from that. Do not mark a delivery complete that you have not made.

I entered the wrong code too many times.

After five wrong entries the code is locked for that delivery. Take a photo instead and support will confirm the handover. Your payment is not affected.

When do I get paid, and how much?

Every finished delivery appears on your statement with what you earned on it. You can send your balance to your own account whenever you like, or set it to pay out automatically on a schedule. Money already earned is yours either way.

Earnings says you have nowhere to send my money.

You have not added a payout account yet — Account, then the payout section. Changing it needs a one-time code, because it is where your money goes. Check every digit: a transfer to a wrong account cannot always be recovered, and a name that does not match the account is the commonest reason one is returned.

I lost the phone I was signed in on.

Account, then "Sign out everywhere". That ends every session on the account including the one you are using, so sign back in afterwards. Do this before anything else if a phone has gone.

I want to stop riding, or delete my account.

Going off shift is the switch on Today and is reversible at any time. To leave the platform or have your account deleted, write to riders@patride.com from the address on the account. Money already owed to you is settled either way.

Still stuck

Write to riders@patride.com. If it is about your personal data, or you want a copy of it, the privacy policy says how — and the contact page lists every other address.
