How ordering works, what it costs, and what happens to your details.
What is Patride?
A delivery platform for African cities. Cooking gas refills, groceries, restaurant food, home repairs and beauty appointments are ordered in one app and brought by one network of riders — currently in Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Kampala.
Is Patride available yet?
The iOS and Android apps are in testing, market by market. Nothing on this site claims a service is live where it is not; the contact page is the way to be told when a city opens.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is charged in distance bands set separately for each market, in that market’s own currency, and the fee is shown with the quote before you place an order. Bands rather than a per-kilometre rate, so GPS drift cannot change the price between the quote and the order.
How do I pay?
Card or bank transfer through the app, or from your Patride wallet. Payment is taken before the rider sets off, which is what makes live tracking and a receipt for every trip possible.
Can I pay part from my wallet and the rest on a card?
Yes. If your wallet does not cover the whole order you can put the balance on a card in the same checkout, and the app tells you exactly what each part will be charged.
Does Patride see my card number?
No. Card details go directly to the payment provider and never reach Patride’s servers at all. The privacy policy says so in more detail.
Can I track my order?
Yes — the rider appears on a map from the moment the order is picked up until it arrives.
What happens if my order does not arrive?
Every order, quote and payment is recorded in the app, so support has the same record you do. Where an order is not delivered, the terms set out what is refunded — including the case where a trip was genuinely made and part of the fee covers it.
Which cities does Patride cover?
Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Kampala, each with its own vendors, prices and currency.
How is my personal information handled?
Retention periods are specific and published: rider location traces are deleted after 30 days, sign-in codes are valid five minutes and single use, and personal details are removed when an account is closed while the financial record is kept for the statutory period. The privacy policy names every third party that receives data.
