Terms of service
Last updated 14 August 2026
These terms apply when you order through Patride in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda or Tanzania. Ordering means you accept them.
What Patride is
Patride connects you with independent shops and independent riders. The shop supplies the goods; the rider carries them. We operate the platform, take the payment, and are responsible for the service working as described here.
Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your phone or email — there is no password. Anyone holding that code can sign in as you, so do not pass it on. Patride will never ask you for it. Not support, not a rider, not a colleague. If someone does, they are not us.
Orders and prices
- The price you are shown at checkout is the price you pay: goods, delivery and any fees, itemised before you confirm.
- Delivery is priced by distance and can rise at busy times. When it does, the app says so and says why.
- A cylinder deposit, where one applies, is refundable when the cylinder comes back.
- Every order is paid before a shop begins work. We no longer take cash on delivery.
Gas cylinders, specifically
A refill is an exchange: the rider brings a full, safety-checked cylinder and takes your empty one away. Have the empty ready. A cylinder that is damaged, out of certification, or not the size ordered may be refused at the door, and we will tell you why.
LPG is dangerous when mishandled. Follow the safety guidance supplied with your cylinder. Do not ask a rider to install, connect or repair equipment — they deliver cylinders and are not gas fitters.
Cancelling, and what happens to your money
- You can cancel free of charge until the shop starts preparing your order.
- After that, a cancellation may carry a charge covering work already done. The app tells you before you confirm.
- If a shop or rider cancels, or nothing arrives, you are refunded in full to the method you paid with. Refunds are issued by us and settled by the payment provider, which usually takes a few working days.
- If nobody is at the address and the rider cannot reach you, the delivery may be recorded as failed and part of the delivery fee may be retained for the trip made.
What you agree to
- Give a real address and a number that reaches you.
- Be there, or arrange for someone to be.
- Do not resell what you buy through Patride as a business.
- Treat riders and shop staff decently. We will close accounts over abuse or threats, and we will support anyone on the receiving end of it.
Where we stand if something goes wrong
We are responsible for the platform working, for taking payment correctly, and for putting right an order that fails because of us. Goods are supplied by the shop and are subject to the consumer protection law of your country, which these terms do not reduce.
We are not liable for indirect losses — a missed appointment, lost earnings — arising from a late or failed delivery.
Which law applies
The law of the country you ordered in. Nothing here removes a right that your national consumer law gives you.
Reaching us
Contact has the ways to reach a person, and what to expect.
