Why a market is not just a translation

A platform built for one city and copied outward carries that city’s assumptions everywhere: its currency’s decimal places, its payment methods, its idea of how far a delivery goes before the fee should change. Those assumptions are wrong somewhere else, and the failures they cause are quiet — a fee off by a factor of a hundred, a customer with no vendor in range, a payment method nobody uses.

So each market carries its own delivery pricing, its own currency handling — including the ones with no minor unit, like the Ugandan shilling — its own vendors and its own opening decision. A market can be paused without touching any of the others.
